Rationel of the confernece
In today’s world, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, profound transformations in the political and economic landscape, and the continuous evolution of the media and communication ecosystem have significantly expanded the influence and boundaries of discourse. In order to further promote the development of discourse studies and facilitate academic exchanges between China and the world, the 11th International Conference on New Discourses in Contemporary China is to be held at Jilin University between July 4th and July 6th, 2025.
The history of the conference:
The International Conference on New Discourses in Contemporary China (NDCC) is held by the Professional Committee for Discourse Studies, China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese. Ten previous conferences have been held consecutively:
2006 Nankai University;
2008 Lancaster University, UK;
2009 Nankai University;
2011 Guangdong University of Foreign Studies;
2013 Nanjing Normal University;
2015 Sun Yat-sen University;
2017 East China Jiaotong University;
2019 Dalian University of Foreign Languages;
2021 Shanghai Jiao Tong University;
2023 Zhejiang Normal University.
The conference has effectively strengthened the academic exchanges between China and the world and promoted the development of discourse studies in China.
This conference will invite well-known scholars at home and abroad to make keynote speeches or organize panel discussions. And editors-in-chief of renowned international and domestic journals will be invited to speak at a special forum. Now we sincerely invite all the scholars interested in discourse studies to attend this conference as panel convenor, panelist or sub-forum speaker. We welcome abstracts focusing on one or more of the following themes, but we also leave space for interesting contributions that may not be easy to classify.
